Sausage Cheddar Balls

Classic retro comfort foods are making a grand comeback, which comes as no surprise as we navigate these challenging times. It seems that we’re all seeking those feel-good nostalgic foods that make us feel like a kid again. With this in mind, we’re bringing back this classic hors d’oeuvre just in time for holiday parties. You’ll find most of the ingredients you’ll need in our Weekly Sale from December 9th – 15th, including local King Arthur flour, McKenzie’s sausage, and Cabot shredded cheddar.

Healthy Halloween Treats

If you love the spooky revelry of Halloween, but you’re not loving all the sugary indulgence, these treats are for you!

Candied Maple Pecans

These candied maple pecans are unbelievably simple to make and ridiculously delicious to snack on. Put them in a mason jar with a ribbon, and they’ll also make great gifts for friends during the holidays. Enjoy them on their own, toss with chopped dried fruits for a great trail mix, or crumble them over ice cream for a decadent dessert. You’ll find pecans and maple syrup featured in the weekly sale from November 23rd – 28th, so it’s a great time to whip up a big batch!

Gingerbread Cookies

These classic gingerbread cookies are lightly sweet, laced with the flavors of molasses and spice. Here, a bit of whole wheat flour is easily disguised by the spices. Use your favorite cookie cutters to make gingerbread people, snowflakes, stars or whatever strikes your fancy!

Pie Crust

Holiday baking season is upon us and if you’re hoping to skip the store-bought pie crusts this year, this is the perfect recipe for you. Making your own crust is surprisingly simple and deliciously rewarding. This particular recipe is the favorite of staff member Kat Cyr, who recently taught a Co-op Class at the Hannaford Career Center on “The Perfect Pie Crust”. It comes from her go-to pie-making manual, “The Four & Twenty Blackbirds Pie Book” by Emily Elsen & Melissa Elsen. We hope you enjoy it as much as her class did! Keep in mind that this recipe is for a double crust pie (crust on top and bottom). If your recipe calls for a single pie crust, simply half the ingredients listed here.
