Here’s why you should consider growing your career at our Co-op:

Our History

Our values are tried and true : for over forty-five years, we have championed sustainable business practices, growing the local foods movement, and supporting our community. Last year, we contributed over $118,000 in donations to our local food shelves, non-profits, and discounts to low-income shoppers. We are thrilled to contribute to a vibrant, local economy.

Regular Employees:

Regular staff have a set weekly schedule with a minimum of 16 hours per week with at least one weekend shift. Regular staff have a consistent weekly schedule, with two days off in a row.

Substitute employees:

Substitute staff have many same job duties as regular staff, but do not have regular weekly schedules. Instead there’s a minimal monthly commitment with an option to pick up more shifts as availability changes. Some staff prefer to fill in when someone’s on vacation from time to time, and others prefer to pick up every odd shift, crafting a nearly full-time work schedule.

On Inclusion

As a member of National Co-op Grocers (NCG) and as an organization that strives for a workplace culture that is striving to be a safer, more welcoming, and respectful space for all, we find that NCG’s DEI vision is aligned with ours.

“We are a learning organization on a continuous journey to build a positive and inclusive culture that values a diversity of ideas, perspectives and identities. We foster an environment where everyone is treated with dignity, respect, where we are inspired by our work and proud of our contributions.” –National Coop Grocers

Co-op staff have frequent small group discussions on how they can take steps towards making the store a welcoming, respectful space for all. Together we practice scenarios we might encounter and discuss the value in changing language and habits to be more respectful of community members.
