Sausage Cheddar Balls
Classic retro comfort foods are making a grand comeback, which comes as no surprise as we navigate these challenging times. It seems that we’re all seeking those feel-good nostalgic foods that make us feel like a kid again. With this in mind, we’re bringing back this classic hors d’oeuvre just in time for holiday parties. You’ll find most of the ingredients you’ll need in our Weekly Sale from December 9th – 15th, including local King Arthur flour, McKenzie’s sausage, and Cabot shredded cheddar.
Preheat oven to 400º. Line a rimmed baking sheet with parchment paper. Add flour, baking powder, salt, and butter to a food processor and process until butter is incorporated. Add grated cheese and pulse 1-2 times. Add sausage and scallions and pulse until the mixture comes together. Using a 1 tablespoon scoop, form into balls and place on prepared baking sheet. Bake for 15 minutes until slightly browned on the outside. Serve warm.
