Looking Back, Moving Forward: A Recap of Our 50th Annual Meeting
On Wednesday, September 9th, member-owners gathered at American Flatbread for the Co-op’s 50th Annual Meeting and Celebration. The evening offered a chance to connect, reflect on the past year, and consider the future of our community-owned grocery store.

Board President Amanda Warren spoke about the importance of cooperatives in an economy increasingly dominated by large corporations and consolidation. The cooperative model offers a different approach to ownership and decision-making—one that gives members a voice and keeps the needs of the community at the center of the business. As we celebrate 50 years, that distinction remains as relevant as ever.

Turning to the future of our own Co-op, General Manager Greg Prescott discussed our growth and the need to begin thinking about what comes next. Growth brings opportunities to serve more people and support more local producers, but it also puts pressure on our space and resources. Planning for the future means considering how we can continue meeting our community’s needs while staying true to the values that brought us here.

We also reviewed our financial performance for fiscal year 2026 and how we fulfilled our Ends—the guiding goals that define the Co-op’s intended impact. Together, these reviews help member-owners understand both the health of the business and how it is putting our shared values into practice.

Deli Manager Emily Wingertzahn also gave attendees a sneak peek at some new items coming soon to the Deli.

The evening concluded with questions from member-owners.

Thank you to everyone who joined us, and to all of our member-owners for being part of the Co-op’s first 50 years. Whether you were there in person or couldn’t make it, we invite you to explore the FY2026 Annual Report.
