Tired of bland burgers? Looking to up your burger game? Then this recipe is for you! A hamburger patty is a great vehicle for loads of flavor, so feel free to be creative! This particular recipe features Italian flavors, but you can experiment with other herbs and spices for your own unique twist. You’ll find McKnight Farm’s local, organic ground beef in our weekly sale from June 13th – 19th, along with Vermont Bread Company’s organic hamburger buns, and Cabot sliced cheeses, so it’s a perfect time to fire up the grill and give these a try!
Preheat gas or charcoal grill to medium-high heat. Combine all ingredients except cheese in a large bowl and mix by hand until well blended. Divide into four patties. Grill over medium-high heat for 4 or 5 minutes each side. Flip only once. When nearly done, add a slice of cheese to each patty, if desired. Remove from grill and allow to rest for 5 minutes. Serve on a bun with ketchup, mustard, mayo, lettuce, tomato, pickles, or any condiments and toppings you prefer.
