Description

Making pizza at home might seem intimidating – especially compared to the relative ease of popping a pre-made frozen pie into the oven, but we think you’ll agree that nothing tastes better than homemade and the process is actually quite simple. Local pizza dough is featured in our weekly sale from January 20th – 26th, along with local Maplebrook fresh mozzarella, Organicville pizza sauce, and a handful of perfect pizza toppings, including local Vermont Smoke and Cure Pepperoni, so it’s an excellent time to try your hand at homemade pizza! Feel free to get creative with the toppings!

Instructions

Defrost dough in the refrigerator, then allow dough to rest on the countertop until it reaches room temperature. Preheat oven to 450 F. Oil one 12” pizza pan. Flour your work surface. Use a rolling pin (or hand toss if you’ve got those skills!) to roll your ball of dough into a 12” circle. Transfer the dough to your oiled pizza pan. Spoon pizza sauce onto your pizza and spread evenly in a thin layer. Slice each ball of mozzarella into thin rounds. Lay mozzarella slices onto the pizza, top with a generous sprinkling of pizza seasoning, and add desired pizza toppings. Grate a generous dusting of fresh parmesan onto the pizza. Bake at 450 for 15 minutes, or until crust is crisp and cheese is melted to perfection.
